A brilliant movement from Handel's Te Deum HWV 283 from 1732. Handel's first work in English brought him fame in England. This aria is in Handel's signature style with long florid vocal phrases and majestic Trumpet sounds.
Ray Kirkham of the Vancouver Symphony has produced a lovely arrangement of this work with String accompaniment of almost 3 minutes in length for moderately advanced performers.
Trumpet part in C. Parts include Basso solo, Trumpet solo, Violin 1 & 2, Viola and Cello.
His works include Messiah, Water Music, and Music for the Royal Fireworks. He was strongly influenced by the techniques of the great composers of the Italian Baroque and the middle- German polyphonic Choral tradition. Handel's music was well-known to many composers, including Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven.
Mr. Kirkham was a founding member of the Vancouver Symphony Brass Quintet and the Trinity Brass Trio. He performed with the C.B.C. Radio Orchestra for many years as well.
