For more than twenty years, Gordon & Joyce Cherry have been putting their love for music to work; directing the great sounds of the Cherry Classics. They have performed at hundreds of formal affairs, gala balls & private functions.

THE DIRECTORS

The musical direction of the Cherry Classics rests in the capable hands of Gordon & Joyce Cherry. With over 30 years experience in the music entertainment business, they are truly the music professionals.

Aside from performing with the Cherry Classics, Gordon Cherry has held the principal trombone position with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra since 1974. Other perforance credits include numerous appearances with famous pop stars and artists such as:

David Foster, Andrea Bocelli, Holly Cole, Doc Severenson, Andrew Lloyd Webber, Tony Bennett, Mel Torme, Marvin Hamlish, Micheal J. Fox, Oscar Peterson, Henry Mancini and many, many more.

Gordon is also a recipient of the coveted Canada Council Artists Award.

Joyce Cherry is one of Vancouver's top pianists, with a wide range of experience and teaches as a music education specialist with the Surrey School District. She is in great demand as an accompanist of local choirs and soloists. Joyce has a Masters of Music Education from the University of Toronto.

Gordon & Joyce both met at the Eastman School of Music, where they received their Bachelor of Music degrees.

THE BAND

The Cherry Classics ensembles are comprised of Vancouver's top professional musicians. Combined, the members' musical experience totals over 120 years. You can be assured that the quality of performance will be nothing less than outstanding!

The instrumentation of the full dance band includes a horn section with sax, trumpet and trombone, electronic keyboards, bass guitar and drums.

Enhancing the band are our talented & versatile male and female vocalists, whose broad and spirited repertoire will add a great deal of energy and excitement to your special occasion. You'll experience the full & rich sound of a big band as it should be!
